Our Founder
Abril Baloney Sutherland is a travel and education enthusiast. Born and raised in New Orleans, she enjoys diverse and rich cultures. Her interest and curiosity in international education and programming began decades ago. In 1996, prompted by a strong familial pull, she studied abroad in Cuba, during the middle of the crippling economic crisis of the 1990s and fell in love with the paltry rhythm of Cuban life.
In 1999, she finished her degree in International Studies at the University of Richmond concentrating in Politics of Latin America and Caribbean and interned in Venezuela during a pivotal political period, as a Public Policy & International Affairs Fellow (PPIA). Later, as a law student concentrating in International Law, she studied comparative civil law in Mexico, and later Law of European Union in Spain, before earning her Juris Doctorate degree. She is a seasoned litigation attorney.
Abril finds life balance through traveling, developing programs all over the world, as well as sharing and learning with her clients, family, and friends.
